Fellowship Groups
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, call the church office and we will help you get connected! Anyone may join these groups; you do not have to be a member of Trinity Heights UMC.
Book Club: Meets monthly in the church library. Books on all topics are chosen by the group.
Movers & Shakers: A one-hour fitness class for women and men. Meets Mondays at 11 am in Fellowship Hall. Led by Tracie Strain, Certified Fitness Instructor and Director of the Wellness Center at the Newton Recreational Center.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 4pm to knit and pray over comfort shawls to be given to those in need.
Piecemakers Quilting and Sewing Group: Meets every Tuesday between 9:00 AM -2:00 PM to do custom hand quilting and sewing. The Piecemakers make baby quilts for babies baptized at Trinity Heights UMC. Additionally, they make varied items for Newton Medical Center volunteer services, diaper bags for Heartland Pregnancy Center, lap robes for nursing homes, and other items for projects, including making pumpkins for the Victory in the Valley Banquet. The Piecemakers also participate in the Trinity Heights UMC Bazaar in November. They have quilts for sale to other individuals for a fee, which is donated to local charities. The Piecemakers are always looking for hand quilters to join the group.
These following fellowship opportunities are designed for THUMC church members:
Church Gardeners: Meet periodically to keep up flower gardens around the church.
Women’s Circles: Meet monthly. Current groups are the Lydia Martha Ruth Circle (Wednesday morning) and the Elizabeth Circle (Monday evening).
